Beginner 1, in person – 12 weeks course

At this level you have little or no previous knowledge of the language. You will learn to share information about yourself in Italian and ask basic questions. You will also learn structure and vocabulary that allow you to function in everyday settings. By the end of the course you will begin to understand easy language structures in an immersion classroom setting while learning to speak primarily in the present tense.

Nuovo Espresso 1 is the textbook used for Beginner 1, 2 & 3 levels.

In Beginner 1 we will cover chapters 1 to 4 of the textbook. A paper copy of Nuovo Espresso 1 can be purchased in person and picked up at our front desk on weekdays from 10 am to 4 pm.  We can also ship the textbook to you (shipping charges apply).

Purchase or renewal of the ICC Annual Membership is also available on line. You will be prompted to purchase a membership in Checkout.

The course will be delivered IN PERSON at the Italian Cultural Centre. We will follow social distancing protocols during classes. Wearing a mask in Il Centro’s spaces is a personal choice. We will be respectful of everyone whether they choose to wear a mask or not.

PLEASE NOTE: the course may be moved to Zoom if Covid-19 restrictions will be put in place or we don’t have the minimum number of students.

***Refund policy: No refunds will be given after the first two sessions. Credit shall be granted after this period to be used within one year.  An administration fee of $10.00 will be applied to all credits, $25 fee to all refund. Membership fee and Espresso book are not refundable.
