Montrealer Anna (Ksenia Solo) embarks on a pilgrimage to Puglia to return her mother’s ashes to her hometown. Little does she know the extraordinary revelations that await her: a saga of love at first sight, adventure and comradeship, extortion, violence, tragedy – and tulips. This whimsical fable of cultural cross pollination expertly juggles farce, romance and mystery from Academy Award-winning director Mike van Diem (Character).

Presented by VIFF Vancity Theatre, the Italian Cultural Centre and the Italian Consul, the Vancouver Italian Film Festival kicks off our fifth year with an Italian/Canadian/Dutch coproduction.
