Learn how to make your own holiday dips and appetizers in our Holiday Dips and Appetizer Making class. In this session, attendees will be cooking with a delicious, versatile cheese called Fomage Blanc. This amazing cheese can be used in many culinary applications. Learn the secrets of how to make your own homemade holiday dips and spreads, following the teachings of our exceptional instructor: Paula Maddison.
Maddison lives on Gabriola Island, where she aspires to live life as sustainable as possible. She has been refining and teaching the lost art of cheese making for the past decade. Her mission is to demystify the idea that cheese making is difficult through her demonstrative classes, where students are welcome to taste, touch and feel each phase of the creation of the cheese.
Bring a container and your appetite, as you will be creating various ways to enjoy Fromage Blanc.
Perfect cooking skills to have for the upcoming Christmas season. You will learn multiple, delicious ways of creating amazing appetizers for the holiday season and throughout the year!
Detailed instructions to make these recipes on your own will be included. You will be working with already made curd to create your own appetizers to bring home.
The workshop will be held in our Trattoria. A limited number of tickets is available for this socially distanced event, where precautions will be taken to avoid the spread of Covid-19, following the restrictions and instructions from the BC Health Authority. Ticket sales close the day before the event.
Refund Policy No cash refunds are available for the cultural events, workshop & classes. With at least 7 days’ notice, we would be happy to provide a credit to use towards other workshops and selected Il Centro initiatives (please inquire). If you give us less than 7 days’ notice, we may be able to issue a credit if we can fill your seat from our waiting list, but there is no guarantee. No credit will be issued for no-shows: whether you are able to attend or not, the instructor still needs to be fairly compensated. All tickets are 100% transferable at any time – just provide your receipt to the person attending or let us know their name by phone or email.
