Beginner and aspiring gardeners, this workshop is for you! During the workshop Shauna will give you the basic know-how and encouragement to grow a great veggie garden using organic practices. Take aways include: primer on healthy soil, planting calendar and sample seeds. All ages welcome, free for kids under 12.
Shauna MacKinnon first discovered the magic of growing food when visiting a school garden in New York City. She later apprenticed on an organic farm and has been a dedicated gardener ever since. She has her Organic Master Gardener certificate and completed KPU’s Richmond Farm School program. Gardening with her kids inspired her to start the Little Bean Farms blog and host community gardening workshops. She works supporting local seed growers at FarmFolk CityFolk but loves offering new gardeners the advice and encouragement they need to get growing in their own gardens and homes.
