Believe it or not, June is the best time of the year for chocolate! Why? We get to eat it with naturally sweet, flavourful and juicy fruits, nature’s candy.  And in Vancouver, June is also Italian Heritage Month, so what better pairing than fine dark chocolate with our favourite fruit, figs! The event will be hosted by seasoned Master Chocolatier, Geoseph Domenichiello.

We will fill wine rehydrated dried figs with a simple decadent dark chocolate ganache. You will then learn how to rehydrate the figs and get to make your own ganache.  Then you will learn to temper your own milk and dark chocolate by hand using the seeding method, something you can repeat at home.

What will we do with all this tempered chocolate? Cover fruit with it! You will learn how to hand dip/enrobe your ganache filled figs, as well as have fun hand enrobing a variety of fresh fruits we will have available.

All you need to bring is yourself, an apron or old t-shirt, and a container to take home your creations.

Ticket sales end the day before the event.

Refund Policy

No cash refunds are available for the cultural events, workshop & classes. With at least 7 days’ notice, we would be happy to provide a credit to use towards other workshops and selected Il Centro initiatives (please inquire).  If you give us less than 7 days’ notice, we may be able to issue a credit if we can fill your seat from our waiting list, but there is no guarantee. No credit will be issued for no-shows: whether you are able to attend or not, the instructor still needs to be fairly compensated. All tickets are 100% transferable at any time – just provide your receipt to the person attending or let us know their name by phone or email.
