- Canning with Benedetta (Dec. 4)

Learn how to preserve the best produce of the season by CANNING it! Join Benedetta Diamanti, a graduate of the Slow Food University of Gastronomic Sciences in Italy, in this intimate hands-on class to learn everything about the boiling water bath canning technique, from the most useful tools to the best ingredients and the safest practices. Benedetta will teach you how to make a red wine jelly and a cinnamon-scented pear and cocoa jam. You will bring home a delicious jar and some nice ideas for tasteful and homemade Christmas gifts!
Tickets are $55 and $50 for ICC members. Attendance is limited to 12 people so act fast!
All the ingredients and kitchen tools are supplied, but make sure to bring an apron and a full belly! You are also welcome to bring your own wine if you’d like to have a glass of wine during the class. While the class starts at 6.30, please arrive a few minutes early.
No cash refunds are available for this workshop. With at least 72 hours notice, we would be happy to provide a credit to use towards other workshops and selected Il Centro initiatives (please inquire). If you give us less than 72 hours notice, we may be able to issue a credit if we can fill your seat from our waiting list, but there is no guarantee. No credit will be issued for no-shows: whether you are able to attend or not, the instructor still needs to be fairly compensated. All tickets are 100% transferable at any time – just provide your receipt to the person attending or let us know their name by phone or email.
