Summary
We are looking for a full-time and part-time Banquet Captain Assistant to join our team. The Banquet Captain Assistant will report directly to the Catering Director and will work closely with catering staff at il Centro. The Banquet Captain Assistant is responsible and accountable for the execution of banquets and catered events.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Hiring, training, and support of service staff
- Daily operations of Food and Beverage related facilities
- Maintain high standards of food and beverage quality, and guest service in an attractive environment while maximizing profits
- Manage and control liquor, labor, and costs
- Work with the Catering Director to implement new menus and individual items for all outlets based on current food trends and regional tastes

- A certified post-secondary education in the hospitality field is preferred

Summary
We are looking for a full-time Catering and Events Coordinator to join our team. The Catering and Events Coordinator organizes the back-end details concerning events to ensure that all of our staff (Front and Back of House, Maintenance Department, Security, and Management) are equipped with the proper information to execute all functions that take place at il Centro. This position also includes planning ancillary items (props, decorations) to ensure that the customer experience at il Centro will be at the highest standard.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Daily meeting with the Catering Director/Team to discuss priority items, problem identification and solving and planning for the day, week, month
• Answering client inquires / booking requests as per instructions from the Catering Director (telephone, email, and in-person)
• Manage all planning, coordination, and execution of catered events including but not limited to: weddings, anniversaries, baptisms, bridal showers, communions, banquets, galas, corporate and community events, fundraisers, meetings, fashion shows, celebrations of life, etc
• Be able to support our clients by offering access to partner services to enhance the customer experience and ease the planning purpose for clients
• Creating, completion and managing of all preliminary draft/final event contracts as instructed by the Catering Director and managing them in an electronic database
• Liaison between the client and operating departments to ensure successful events – communicating all changes in respect to the contracts to all internal stakeholders (Maintenance, Catering Supervisor, and Chef – School and Reception if necessary)
• Meeting with preregistered or drop-in clients/potential clients including conducting walkthroughs and site visits of our venues and facilities
• Ensuring catering events set up and floor plans are consistent with the client’s requests as instructed by the Catering Director
• Process booking deposits and creating invoices for the Accounting Department
• Using QuickBooks and providing quality control on invoices being sent to clients
• Work collaboratively with the Accounting Department to ensure necessary financial information/history of clients’ events is provided
• Updating the calendaring of events and learning the Catering website using a dashboard (Word Press)
• Prepare a weekly calendar of events (including individual contracts) for the following week (Monday to Monday) and distribute them to the Catering Director, Banquet Captain(s), Head Chef, and Maintenance
Experience and Qualifications
• A certified post-secondary education in Event Management is preferred
• At least 1 year of experience in a similar position
• Fluent and proficient computer knowledge (Microsoft Office and Outlook)
• Fluent and proficient in social media
• Truly enjoys working with the public and can handle high volume and large groups in a calm and professional manner
• Highly organized with great attention to detail
• Must be capable of multitasking
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be an excellent team member
• Possesses experience in high-end service with excellent customer relations skills

Adult Italian Language Instructors are responsible for teaching Italian language and culture classes based on the School program
Duties and Responsibilities
• Prepares a general course plan included in the School Curriculum (i.e., Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced).
• Assists in the Design and preparation of specialty courses (i.e., Conversation, Meraviglie d’Italia).
• Prepares a detailed lesson plan for each class.
• Delivers lessons in group or one-on-one settings.
• Provides availability for the following session for course assignment purposes.
• Marks student assignments.
• Keeps communication with students outside of class.
• Assesses students’ progress and guides them in their learning path.
• Takes part in Instructors’ meetings to coordinate the yearly School curriculum.
